This month, my faceless blog made 4 figures and I’m over the moon.
I swore to myself if I ever managed to make any money at all with my little corner of the internet, I’d share the steps I took.
So, here it is!
This is the guide I wished existed when I was just getting started.
Before I begin, I want to invite you to join my FREE 5 DAY BLOGGING COURSE.

Inside, you’ll find a freebie worth $195.
The freebie is my premium blogging course, which is yours for free if you start your blog on this page.
You’ll get 29 step-by-step video tutorials, branding templates, blog templates and so much more – including one-on-one support from me.
It’s my way of saying thank you for starting your blog via mine.
I don’t want anyone to be as lost as I was as a beginner. I made every blogging mistake in the book before finally cracking the code.
You don’t need to make my mistakes, waste your time or your money.
My ultimate aim with this post (and my free offering) is to help you as much as humanly possible.
So, let’s begin, shall we?!
First things first.
NO, blogging didn’t die! Blogging is very much alive in 2025.
With a blog, you’ll be able to:
• Earn online from your interests
• Work on your own terms in your own time
• Work from home or anywhere in the world
You do NOT need:
• A college education
• Top of the range equipment
• Knowledge in coding or anything complicated
All you need is a laptop/desktop, wifi connection and a sprinkle of patience.
Let’s build that blog of yours!
Before we dive into the details, let’s look at why blogging is the perfect online income stream.
The beautiful thing about blogging is that there are multiple ways to monetise a blog.

5 Great ways to make money with a blog:
- Affiliate marketing (promoting products you didn’t develop to earn commission)
- Ads (showing display adverts. Like YouTube ads but on your blog)
- Selling your own products (digital products do great)
- Sponsorships (being paid by brands who want to feature on your blog)
- Selling physical products (with a drop shipping store, you won’t even need to come into contact with the products you sell. Production and distribution is taken care of for you)
My monetization methods of choice are affiliate marketing and selling digital products.
Step 1: Choose a narrow niche
Ignore anyone who tells you that you don’t need a niche.
The importance of choosing a niche cannot be overstated, especially in your early days.
Why?
You won’t rank in results otherwise!
Search engines (such as Google and Pinterest) need to understand exactly what your blog is about so you can appear in search results in front of the right people.
You won’t reach anyone if you try to appeal to everyone.
Consider your blog an online magazine or guide.
Fashion magazines don’t feature fishing articles and I don’t suppose fishermen subscribe to Vogue.
For best results, choose a narrow niche.
Narrowing your blog’s focus will help you escape oversaturated spaces and increase the likelihood of attracting your ideal audience.
Let’s say you want to start a travel blog.
Rather than targeting travel from every angle imaginable, write with a specific reader in mind.
Narrow travel niches:
• Trains
• Cruising
• Luxury travel
• Solo female travel
• Travelling with a dog
• European destinations
• Travelling with an allergy
The possibilities are endless but just pick one!
Still unsure?

Once you’re settled on a niche, it’s time to bring your blog to life.
Step 2: Claim your FREE Domain and Host Your Blog
A self hosted WordPress website is the only way to go.
With a WordPress website:
• You will actually own your blog
• You’ll be able to monetise without restrictions
• You won’t need to pay additional fees for plug ins
• You’ll have complete control over your blog’s appearance
Setting up on a hosted platform like Wix or Squarespace is a recipe for disaster as you’ll never actually own your blog and you’ll relinquish creative control.
Monetisation methods are also limited on those platforms so you best bet is a self hosted WorPress website. This is how most websites are built and it’s completely free.
While WordPress is free and you’ll be able to build your blog without paying a penny, it’ll be a store with its shutters down until you host it.
Hosting is essentially the home of your blog.
The good news? Hosting costs less than $3 per month.
It costs a little more if you want more than one blog. I used to have 9 blogs when I was a blog hoarder who couldn’t be tamed.
Trust me, multiple blogs is a massive mistake!
I strongly suggest sticking with ONE blog on Bluehost’s basic plan, which comes with a FREE domain for the first year and automatic WordPress integration.
Domains are just what you see in the URL – The www.yourblogsname.com.
Choose the basic plan.
Next, you’ll be prompted to pick a domain name and fill in a couple of forms.
You can skip the extras Bluehost try to upsell you on.

Names don’t matter all that much so if someone stole your best idea before you had it, choose another.
Philosophy is a perfume brand, Virgin is a media and travel company.
I assure you, it’s not the end of the world if your ideal blog name is taken so don’t spend too long on this stage.
If you’re stuck, stick with your own name, something relevant to the topic or even an abstract word.
Next, verify your account via email.
Once your account is verified, head back to Bluehost and log in.
You’ll be prompted to share your preferences when it comes to building your site and you should SKIP ALL OPTIONS.
Do NOT build with Bluehost.
Use Bluehost for hosting and build with WordPress.
Next, choose a temporary free theme. You can change it later if you like.
Congrats!

Your blogging journey has begun!
Just so you know, your blog isn’t visible to the world yet and for good reason.
Right now, it looks kinda ugly.
Making your blog beautiful is your next task, and it’s far too much to cram into one guide.
I won’t leave you hanging, though. Remember, everything you need is inside my course, step-by-step and it’s yours for FREE if you fill in the form below:
My course breaks down the entire blogging process into bite sized, manageable steps, so you can work on your blog a little bit every day – without overwhelm.
Plus, you have what I didn’t have in the beginning – FREE MENTORSHIP!
I would’ve killed for some one-on-one support when I was just getting started but none was available unless I paid $100+ an hour, which I simply couldn’t afford.
You aren’t on your own.
I’m with you every step of the way and know you can do this.
